Rebel Roots

Image

Rebel Roots is the student-named garden at SBHS. It was started in the fall of 2010 with student planning and fundraising throughout the winter. During Freshman Community Service Day in May 2011, students broke ground and planted over 400 plants! The total garden area is 25' x 100'. Students continued to care for the garden throughout the summer by watering, weeding, and harvesting when needed. Student Interns also participated in the garden through the Summer Recreation Program day camp, offered to students from kindergarten through 8th grade. These interns led elementary students in learning activities focused on the garden.
